Quackers

Hi everybody,

This post is to test out my photo uploading skills.

I saw this in a shop window, and actually laughed out loud:

It's some sort of duck / penguin bag on wheels. It's body is the main storage area, with additional pockets in the beak and flippers.

If I were a six year old girl, I would want one! I actually want one now, but I know it wouldn't be very practical!

To improve every one's life, from now on, if something makes me laugh, and I'm able to get a picture of it, I'll post it here!

How's that for a deal?

New Rob - New Virus

Hi everybody,

So. On Thursday, as part of the 'New Rob regime' I was going to put some books on eBay. I'd been meaning to do it for ages, but never got round to it.

Whilst doing this, I also thought I'd try to illegally download a film. I'd never done this before, and I probably never will again. That's because I download a lovely virus.

Seriously. It managed to disable both my anti-virus programs, Windows security centre, my firewall AND change all my Internet Explorer settings so that whenever I tried to do an online scan, it wouldn't let me.

I had blue screens, memory purges, safe mode restarts, automatic shut downs... you name it, I had it.

I eventually managed to fix everything (I hope) using a free piece of software.

I suppose you could read two things in to this it:

  1. If you try to change your ways, you'll always get set back, or
  2. If you do something bad, you'll get punished!

Not sure which one I'm voting for.

Thanks for reading,

Day two.

Hi everybody,

Before I forget, here's a summary of the conversation I promised to tell you about yesterday!

A few weeks ago, I met my mate Bruno outside my work. We'd both spent the day doing similar things - I'd been sitting at a computer all day, and so had he.

We asked each other how our days had been, and both of us gave different answers. My day had been 'noting amazing' while his had been great!

We spent a while discussing how two people in similar situations can see things so differently. I remember telling him it would be insincere of me to say I'd had a good day, because I hadn't!

The strange thing is, the last two days at work have been 'good days'.

I can't figure out why this is, but I'm glad something's happened... after all, good days are better than bad ones!

Take care,
Rob (2.0)

P.S. I've posted earlier that yesterday. Yay!
P.P.S. I was 10 minutes late for work. Boo!

First day back at work!

Hi everybody,

Ok, one goal this week is to post each blog earlier in the evening. I have to be at work by 9am and staying up this late isn't a good idea.

Todays news:
  1. I arrived to work on time for a change. This will be my biggest challenge as I'm probably late for everything at least 50% of the time.

  2. Secondly, I had a good day at work today... That's right, you heard me. I can't really believe it myself, but having a positive attitude got me through the day without feeling crappy. Lots of my colleagues sat there looking pretty pee'd about life, but not me!

If I remember tomorrow, I'll tell you about a conversation I had with my mate Bruno a few weeks ago...

  3. Thirdly, there have been a few things in my life that made me decide to change my ways. One of the biggest was a film called Yes Man. I don't normally advertise things in my blog (except perhaps Timotei) but if you see one film this year, make it Yes Man.

More tomorrow,

Another post?

Hi everybody,

You can tell it's my first week keeping this blog because I'm still enthusiastic!

Nothing much to report today really. I went for a drink with another mate today, and we had a pretty good chat about all sorts of things... including girls of course. (Phwoar. Look at that bird.)

It's also my first day back at work tomorrow. I've had two weeks off over Christmas, and normally, even after a weekend, I get pretty down at the thought of Monday morning.

Strangely enough, I feel fine. Is this a sign that I'm a changed man? I hope so!

Yours faithfully,

Post 2.0

Hi everybody,

Well, here's my second post. It's not much, but it's a start.

Today's been a pretty average Saturday really, I met up with a few mates and had some lunch. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary!

I did have a chat with my mate Ed though. I mentioned that I knew some of my mates found me 'a bit negative', but he thought they found me more frustrating than anything. People could see I wanted to do certain things in my life, but never got round to doing them, and this was starting to p*ss people off!

This made me realise two things:

  1. My friends want to see me do the best I can.
  2. My friends find me more frustrating than negative.

Yours faithfully,

New Year - New Blog - New Rob

Hi everybody,

Here's my first blog post.

On January 1st 2009, I decided to become Rob 2.0. That's right! A new and improved version of myself.

I (like 95% of other people) have unlimited potential in life, but there's one person standing in my way... Me!

Hopefully this blog will document my journey towards becoming a better version of myself. Discarding some bad bits along the way, and encouraging the good bits to grow!

With only one more post before I overtake the ill-fated 'Rob's Design Blog', I'm feeling confident!

Yours faithfully,
Rob (2.0)
